Our Italian programme is an ab initio programme (i.e., from scratch, or with a qualification at AS Level or below). It can be combined with Linguistics, French, German and/or Spanish. If you are taking Italian alongside another language, you must have an A-level (or equivalent) in that language.
I chose this degree because I wanted to be fluent in the languages and study the structure behind them. The thing I like most about my course is the balance between the linguistics and cultural side of each language.
I chose italian because it was something new and I've always wanted to learn it. I like the way the course is taught in seminars as it allows your language skills and confidence to progress much faster than if we were learning in lectures.
